Crowdfunding sought to turn listed building into a festival hub

An umbrella organisation for more than 30 festivals in Bristol has turned to crowdfunding to transform a neglected building on Unity Street above Red Light bar into a shared festival hub.

Bristol Festivals is a not-for-profit organisation with the aim of supporting the growth of festival and events in the city.

Members include the Balloon Fiesta, Big Green Week, Brisfest, Dot to Dot, Encounters, Festival of Ideas, Festival of Nature, Harvest, In Between Time, Jazz and Blues, Kite Festival, Love Saves the Day, Mayfest, Poetry Festival, Pride, Redfest, Vegfest and Wildscreen.

They have set a target of raising £2,000 but hope to raise much more.
